Recently, a customer reached out to us with an interest in having ductless units installed throughout their charming old Cincinnati home. The story-and-a-half house had been built in the 1920s and had no ductwork available for a traditional gas or electric heating and cooling system to be installed. The homeowner was heating their home with a boiler radiator system, but they were relying on window air conditioners to make it through the hot months of summer. Due to the age and layout of their home, ductwork could not be run. This meant that another solution needed to be found to keep their home comfortable all year long, and our team was up to the challenge!
Solving The Problem
Our comfort consultant met with this homeowner to assess the situation shortly after we received their phone call, ready to help find the best solution to fit their home comfort needs. Multiple options were discussed to fit the layout of the home, and it was decided that a multi-zone Mitsubishi ductless system would serve them best. When designing the system, it was determined that three wall-mounted units would be installed in different rooms on the first floor of the house, while another unit would be installed in the office on the second floor. These four heating and cooling units installed strategically throughout the house would serve to properly distribute conditioned air evenly into this beautiful home, which so desperately needed this enhancement.
