When the Spring season is approaching, homeowners often begin to start thinking about scheduling a tune up for your air conditioner. However, for a more productive and timely visit, here are three things you should do before meeting with one of our technicians.
1. Check Your Filter & Indoor Registers
One of the most important things that you can do for your system is to make sure that you have a clean furnace filter. Making sure that the airflow to and from your system is not blocked by a dirty filter or covered registers can save you from future problems.
2. Clean Around the Outdoor Unit
Make sure that the area surrounding your outdoor unit is free of debris, such as branches and weeds, that could prevent your cooling system from functioning properly.
3. Turn On Your A/C
It is important to know – before you have your tune up – that your system is able to operate in cooling mode. On the first warmer day, make sure that your air conditioner is able to cool your home, and that nothing appears to be damaged. If your air conditioner is not running as it should be, scheduling an a/c repair before the weather gets too warm will save you trouble later on.
